Title: Home Improvement Fraud
Description:

Makes home improvement fraud by a contractor a class "D" felony if the contract was for $1,500 or more, the consumer is 62 years old or older, or the contractor has previously been convicted of home improvement fraud.  If one of these factors is not present, the contractor can be found guilty of an aggravated misdemeanor.  Class D felonies are punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500. An aggravated misdemeanor is punishable by up to 2 years confinement and up to $6,250 in fines.
